Body Shaming.

“True beauty comes from the soul, to change yourself and conform to anyone else’s standard of beauty, is to change your essence. Own who you are, and you become a truly powerful woman.” Unknown

It takes tremendous courage, self-love, personal acceptance of who we are as a person and lot of determination to forge and curve a path to succeed in life.

True personal acceptance, comes from within, and its’ not confide in what someone else think or says about you. How one thinks of you, holds no ground on who you are or what you become.

True beauty is accepting who we are as a person, believing in our strengths, God-given abilities and intuitions to ignite and live by with a sense of self worthiness, self-respect, confident hence boosting ones’ self-esteem.

Through life, Women get to endure so much, pain, mistreatment, mistrust and name calling, so often, from the very closes members of the family.

A couple of years back, early in my childhood days, a great telenovela show, by the name MY SWEET, FAT VALENTINA, was aired, in one of the local channel. Despite my age, I was a great fan and audience.

As I can recall it, the show was about a young girl, Valentina, who was often mistreated, ashamed, name called and bullied in regards to her physical and body appearance. In a turn of event, Valentina worked on herself, turning into the most beautiful model within the show.

Using Valentina, as a reference, it’s important to acknowledge body shaming is a huge challenge, deeply rooted within the community, it’s important to understand, body shaming is a form of bullying, either in person or online. Aimed, to negatively judge someone based on their physical appearance.

This issue, affects the young, the old and both men and women, and doesn’t discriminate in regard to race, color, nationality, sexual orientation, social status and influence within a society.

As an effort to create awareness and bring to an end this vice, it begins, with making a self- declaration and affirmation first, acknowledging that, you are not a mistake, you are beautiful, perfect, valid and amazing regards of your body.

The society’s crazy expectation does not dictate your worth.yet it's through how you view yourself that counts. Be proud of who you are, and not ashamed of how someone else sees you.
